Something to see.

My grandmother, my grandfather, my cousin. One survivor. We have to do something. We are.

We had 18 scrapbookers at the store on Saturday in honor of Breast Cancer awareness. We will make a donation to the cause. Breast cancer isn't the only one. There are so many. We have to find a cure for them all.

STFD

I am at the store. It is 9:02am. I have been here since 6:00am. There are 100's of people outside my door lined up to drop off old clothes for Kids Market! WOW! Brittney told me it would be crazy....I didn't believe her! The parking lot is FULL. If you have seen our new store. We have a HUGE parking lot! My poor scrapbookers are having to fight the crowd to get in the door! We passed out coupons! I have already done $200! This might be a fabulous day in the Scrap ETC world.
I am going on 2 hours of sleep. I was at the crop last night until about 1:00am and my super friends, Ashlee and Marisa spent the night......so, we were up until 3:30am chatting! Don't worry we solved all the worlds problems. I'll let you in on that later (wink)!

I hope you are having a super weekend. I guess I should do a little "Roll Tide" for Michael D. I hope he gets to play today! Shout for #51 if you see him go in!

Packing my bags.....

Ok, it's over. I am heading home in the morning. Well, at home it is morning.....1:16am in the morning to be exact! I need to hit the sack. I have my bags packed except for what I will need at 5:00am to get in the shower! I have so much to share with you when I get back! Fabulous projects and lots of new techniques.......Janet Hopkin's class was really AWESOME! I got to play with a book that is coming out CHA Winter 2009! woo hoo! I will have it at the store for you all to drool over.

Ok, Tim Holtz.........WOW!!! I am in love. All the hype you hear.....it's all true. He is such a great teacher. This was a super fun class and of course, I begged him to come to the Scrap ETC event........I've got to email him! I will, I promise! I can't wait to get back to the store and play with some grungeboard. I think I need to place an order with Tim Holtz Ideology and Ranger......crackle paint.........ink.....distress........ghost shapes (Heidi Swapp)..........collage with ephemera.......I LOVE this man! I've already told Connor all about him. He's only a little jealous! hehe! So, you might want to catch me at the store sometime this week while I'm still on a high from hanging out with all these scrapbooking celebrities. I have soo much to share with you!
Jenni's class was today and I got to use glass glitter....YUMMY! I want everything to be covered in glass glitter. It is so pretty and sparkly! She told me that Tim is coming to Nashville for CKU, (i think?), and they are going Antiqueing........I told her to call me....I want to go! Hey, I just realized I am totally name dropping! You can be jealous.......go ahead.....if you don't think you are.....don't kid yourself.......these are cool people and just ask me.....I know!

Another really cool person that you may not have heard of before my last post.....Her birthday was on Thursday and she is a fabulous girl! She and her mom come to Creative Escape with my little adopted family each year. They are 2 of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. Cappi, Jenny's mom, is truly the most giving and considerate person I have ever met. Jenny celebrated her birthday on Thursday. So, each year CE gives away 2 spots to next year's event. Well, last year we are sitting at our table near the back. We had one girl that was by herself sitting with us. Her friend was supposed to come, but broke her back and couldn't come! It was horrible! So, all of the waiters come in with little chinese takeout boxes....with a fortune cookie in it....so cute, right? We all are waiting anxiously to open them and the "head waiter" comes up to our table and tells us to take the takeout boxes he has....well, as you know, we already have one. He insists that we take HIS boxes. So, we trade with him thinking, "that was weird!". Finally, they tell us to open the boxes and sure enough.....The girl sitting at our table WON! We were so fired up! How cool that he picked our table to switch out the boxes...he knew he had "THE BOX"! So, ok, back to this year.......We always eat dessert first at CE. They are bringing out the dessert and there is a treasure box on our plates with a key! We all know what that means, right? Someone is going to win tickets to next years event! So, we are all waiting for everyone to get theirs.....they tell us that the one that is the winner will have 5 real $1 coins in it....the others will have plastic coins.......we hear Jenny shake hers and what do you know? There are 5 real $1 coins in her treasure box! OMG, we freaked out! We were sitting at the winning table....AGAIN!!!! and it was one of our friends! We were so excited for her! She truly deserves it. I'm so glad she won...even if she doesn't invite me as her date for next year! love ya, jenny!
Another cool moment..........
Creative Escape was giving away 2 tickets for a scrapbooking cruise to raise money for the American Cancer Society.......so, Tim decides he will auction off his really cool shirt that has creative escape 08 and a flourish ( a really cool shirt). So, he gets up on stage and the first bid is for $500! Yes, $500....we couldn't believe it. Someone bid like $600 and the other lady went to $1000 or something crazy. We thought she pretty much won........someone else bid whatever and then the same lady bid $1500, then she went to $2000, we were thinking, WOW this is awesome! Everyone was standing up watching. We were amazed that they were bidding so high for a shirt! Well, we were sure she had won and then......out of the blue......a lady WAAAAAY in the back yells something........everyone was straining to hear.......she bid......are you ready? $6000.....yes, I am serious!!! You could not believe the electricity that was in that room! Mr. Bazzill's mom had fought cancer this past year and the event photographer, too! It was so incredible!
This night was FULL of excitement! I don't know if I will ever be able to wind down. It's been an hour since I started this post..........I hope those pics load soon.

Have a great Sunday and I'll see you at the store next week!

It's HOT out here!

Wow, it's like 106 degrees everyday! That is HOT! There isn't even a breeze.......I miss the humidity of Alabama......really? Not really, but I do miss 95 degrees!

Creative Escape is super fun. There are some really fun teachers. I have had a great time seeing all the people who were at the Scrap ETC event. Jenni Bowlin is truly adorable. Heidi brought some really fun things from the markets in China for the event. I would love to have all those places at my disposal! Think of the goodies we could add to the Scripts kits!

I have had so much fun with my friends that adopted me last year. Jenni, Chardee, Janet, Cappie, Carol all came back this year and brought another friend from Yuma, Holly. I came by myself and they picked me up right away. As soon as I saw them this year, it was like we hadn't missed a beat! These pics are of Cappie, Janet and Jenni. I'll try to get a pic of the group. They are all so sweet! Maybe they'll make it to our event in the Spring. I'm really talking it up and telling them how fabulous it will be! I hope they come.......(please stalkers?) hehe they told me they read my blog.....well, Chardee does!
Jenni's birthday was yesterday, so we went to PF Chang's for dinner. We started scrapbooking this morning and haven't stopped! I am sooooo tired! The time change is messing with me for some reason. I can't get to bed early enough and then wake up Alabama time!

bedtime.......g'nite!

Guess where I am going?

Creative Escape in Phoenix, AZ! I leave tomorrow! It has completely snuck up on me. I have nothing ready......no homework.......no clothes packed.......nothing to read on the plane. I am in trouble!

This is an event put on by Heidi Swapp and Bazzill. I CAN NOT wait! It is going to be so much fun! Tim Holtz, Jenni Bowlin, Janet Hopkins, Laura Stamas, Kollette Hall, Kellee Goree and Heidi Swapp.....of course! How jealous are you? Well, if you aren't a scrapbooker......you may not be jealous at all. You may be thinking why in the world would she travel across the country to scrapbook? Well, it is a fabulous time at a fabulous resort and I do have friends that will be there that are fabulous! So, there......

Here is a little pic of the temporary sign at the
store. We are a little hard to find in the corner. This cute sign makes it easy!!

Yes, we were at the beach again last weekend! Look who was there! Nanny and Nicole! We had so much fun with them. Emma built a sandcastle with a little help from everyone. John Connor had the privilege of knocking it down. Lucky kid. Nothing makes him happier! The picture of the fountain is from Friday night. We went to Cantina Laredo and met Ashlee, Brad, Missy, Neil and all the kiddos. We had yummy margaritas! and delicious guacamole! The kids just played in the fountains while we got to visit with the adults. Love entertainment for the kids!!

Gusav didn't scare us....not one bit. We were up early on Saturday morning playing tennis. It was HOT! We ran to the grocery store and got stuff for sandwiches and snacks and drinks on the beach. We were out in the sand by 12:00. We found a spot and stayed there most of the day! We went to the pool for an hour or so. The kids had friends there, so that was fun for them. The beach was packed. We had plans to watch the Bama game. The kids went with Nanny and Nicole. Connor and I went to Beef O' Brady's to watch the game. We had a huge table and lots of friends sat with us! Kirsten and her gang came by. They were on a girls trip! They were so funny! Sunday eVeryOne left! It was crazy. They all got out of town before the hurricane got there. All the cabana boys were working hard to get all the umbrellas off the beach. They were on tractors and pushing sand around to save the Tiki huts! These are the couple of pics we took on the beach on Monday morning. It was around 11:00am. The wind was rough. You can see the flags flying and Emma's hair!! The kids were playing on the mound of sand. That is what the Cabana boys did to save the Tiki Hut........doesn't look like much....I guess it worked! ha!
Hopefully, I can post from AZ.....I'll keep you updated on all the fun I'm having!
